Fiverr’s New Ratings and Reviews System: A Fresh Approach to Reflecting Current Performance

Fiverr has recently rolled out significant updates to its Ratings and Reviews system, aiming to better represent sellers’ current performance and skills. Here’s a comprehensive look at the changes and what they mean for both buyers and sellers on the platform.

Public Ratings Now Reflect Recent Activity

One of the most notable changes is that public ratings will now only reflect the past two years of activity. This shift acknowledges that skills evolve over time and recent projects are more indicative of a seller’s current capabilities. By focusing on the most recent two years, Fiverr aims to provide a more accurate representation of a seller’s performance.

Updated Total Score Calculation

In line with the changes to public ratings, the total score calculation has also been updated. Previously, this score considered a seller’s entire history on Fiverr. Moving forward, it will only take into account ratings from the last two years, starting from the most recent review. While the total number of reviews and the reviews themselves will still reflect a seller’s lifetime work, the rating score will be based solely on recent feedback. If a Gig hasn’t received new reviews in the past two years, the existing score will remain until new reviews are added.

Enhanced Public Feedback Form

To ensure feedback is more relevant and actionable, Fiverr has updated the public feedback form. This update aims to better highlight sellers’ skills and strengths to potential clients, providing a more precise and valuable assessment of a seller’s capabilities.

New Feature: Editing Reviews After Submission

Fiverr’s ratings and reviews policy now includes a new feature allowing buyers to edit their reviews. Buyers can edit their reviews themselves for up to 14 days or until the seller submits their review, whichever comes sooner. Once a review is published, it cannot be edited by the buyer, seller, or Customer Support, unless it violates Fiverr’s Terms of Service and Community Standards.

These updates reflect Fiverr’s commitment to creating a fair and dynamic marketplace where current performance is more accurately represented, benefiting both buyers and sellers.
